Pantone Colour of the Year 2014 is Radiant Orchid

Pantone announced its colour of the year for 2014 recently and that colour is Radiant Orchid. I absolutely adore this colour! Just looking at it makes me smile. I know that it’s a bit pink for a lot of people, and so there will be many that don’t like it. I am not a fan of pink either but sometimes the right shade can change your mind or turn your head. This is a perfect blend of pink, purple and fuchsia that will delight many and lure lots with its lusciousness.

Byres Road Makers Market – 9th November 2013 And first cheque for Craft Town sales!

Yesterday we attended the last BRMM for the year, so effectively this was the Christmas market, though it did seem to surprise quite a lot of people that this was the case.  There were more than a few comments about it being far too early to start Christmas shopping and still other people who were Read More

Lady Magpie Winter Fair – 2nd November 2013 – Castle Douglas

Lady Magpie Winter Fair – 2nd November 2013 – Castle Douglas. Yesterday we attended our first ever Lady Magpie and Me fair. This particular fair has been established for a few years now and quite popular. This one was the Winter Fair and it was held in Castle Douglas Town Hall. It was a bit of a drive to get there for us but easy enough to find and the weather and roads were ok for this time of year. The outside of the hall had been decorated with bunting as well as the inside and it all looked very festive. We were downstairs in the main hall but the fair was held over two floors so there were more stalls to see upstairs.

In the Studio… Retro printed aprons and oven gloves for Christmas

This week in the studio I’ve been hard at it making retro printed aprons and oven gloves for the forthcoming fairs and especially for the Christmas gift market. I made half aprons and full length aprons and then started on the oven gloves and hot pads. I love these retro/baking fabrics which I ordered in Read More

In the studio this week… leopard print goes with everything!

Well that’s not completely true but mostly it is.  We will be going to a vintage fair on Saturday and I wanted to make a lot of new vintage style accessories to go with the bags specifically for the fair, which by the way is the Falkirk Vintage Fair in Falkirk. I ended up making Read More
